The Marinette & Menominee Amateur Radio Club became affiliated with the ARRL in 1949, received club #2234, and observed its 50th anniversary of the charter in 1999/2000. We are now in our 62nd year. Meetings are held the 2nd Thurs. of each month at 7pm at the (N)ortheast (W)isconsin (T)echnical (C)ollege in Marinette, WI . We currently have over 50 members on our roster, and are active within the local emergency government program, and Skywarn. Our members range in age from 12 years to 80+. Many activities are provided for our members including Field Day, Special Event lighthouse station, Charter banquet, annual picnic, Michigan and Wisconsin QSO parties. We occasionally conduct radio licensing classes, and several VE sessions each year for new licensees and upgrades. We have licensed over 30 new hams since 2004. M&M ARCoperates two repeaters: the 147.000+(107.2pl) machine with approximately 150 watts, which covers much of the southern Upper Peninsula, and northeast Wisconsin, from a height of 410' and which was upgraded in August of 2006 to a new 4 bay gain antenna and hardline. Thanks to KC8DOA on whose tower our antenna is located. A new set of duplexers and jumper cables was installed in the summer of 2008. We, just recently installed a new Kenwood repeater. Our repeater is now equipped with Echolink at node #481872. We also operate a 444.075 repeater, from atop a building at 100' that covers a smaller area with a Motorola running at approximately 70 watts.

The 147.000 repeater is home to the long standing and popular M&M ARC Kandy Net heard each Sunday at 7pm CST. Our club has long been committed to promoting and extending ham radio to youth. We were the guiding force behind the establishment of the K8DAR ham station in the local Menominee/Marinette D.A.R. Boys & Girls Club. We also offer testing several times a year through the ARRL VEC

The picture below shows our Special Event station at the Menominee Waterfront Festival in 2008.
