I was first licensed as WN4REN in 1970 at the age of 15 while living in Louisville, KY.
Received the callsign WB4REN after upgrading in 1972. Received callsign N8GTC in 1984
after moving to the Cincinnati, OH area.  Moved to Crothersville, IN 4/99, upgraded to Extra 7/99
and received the call W9BS.  Moved to Fort Myers, FL 12/13.

My "antenna farm" in Crothersville, IN was taken down 10/13, and I now live in a single story condo
in Fort Myers, FL. I have, to some degree, set up an attic antenna farm.
My station equipment is as follows:

HF
        * Flex-6500  (ICOM 756Pro Backup)
        * Full sized 80m dipole with 2 90deg bends on each leg in the attic up about 12ft AGL
fed with 33 ft of 450ohm ladder line.  See diagram below.
        * MFJ-989D Roller inductor tuner.  Allows antenna to be tuned on all band 160-10m. 160m marginal.
Using DX Engineering 10kw continuous duty 4:1 balun with tuner.  Internal balun was too flimsy.
        * Ameritron AL-1200 amplifer or ALS-500M (when needed)
        * DXKeeper logging program. HRD DM780, FLDigi, MixW and WSTJ-X digital mode software.

Shown below is my attic antenna configuration.  FP=Feedpoint:

It is not the big station I had up north, but I am on the air!  HOA regulations are very strict here,
so all my antennas must be stealth and indoors.  I have regular 80m SSB skeds Friday nights with my
old friends up north (1000mi).  The attic antenna actually exceeded my expectations for HF!
I work way more DX than I ever thought was possible from this QTH.

These days I find myself almost exclusively running FT8, JT65,JT9 or WSPR modes.  These modes are
well suited for my antenna situation.  I can be found on all bands 160-6m.  160 is very marginal.

As of 10/17, this station runs 100% on Battery and Solar power except for the amplifiers.
