Hello, I was originally licensed as WN4PSO in 1975 in Frankfort,KY. Although before I ever used this call on the air, I upgraded to General and got the call WA4PSO. I enjoy building and operating HF kits or homebrew equipment with my son Sean, N5PV. As an incentive for my son to get his liscense, I would upgrade to Advanced. On 12-Feb-1999, I got my Advanced. As another incentive for Sean to get his General, I would go for my Extra. I upgraded to Amateur Extra Class on 12-May-1999. I enjoy operating on the HF bands whenever I get the time. Our station includes the following: HF rigs Kenwood TS-520, Heathkit HW-8 and HW-9, QRP 30 Meter Crystal Transmitter, and a converted CB radio for 10 meters. Our VHF equipment includes a Yaseu Memorizer, an Icom IC-2AT handie, and a dual band Yaseu FT-727R handie. Our antenna farm consists of a Butternut HF9V mulitband vertical sitting on the ground. Our VHF antennas include a co-linear two meter vertical sitting at 30 feet, and for portable ops we have a J-Pole made out of pipe and another made out of TV twinlead. I hope to work you some time on one of the HF bands.
