I am active in ARES/RACES.  I am currently the Section Emergency Coordinator for Eastern Washington.   I am an airline pilot and spend half the month traveling and laying over in cities across the US, Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii.

Please note that I periodically operate portable from a work residence in Edgewood, WA CN87uf. I also operate mobile and suitcase portable in my travels and am happy to work you from the many grid squares and counties I traverse. I can be active on all modes on HF, 6 meters, 2 meters and 70cm.  I have two rigs on APRS,  the Home QTH -1, pinging from the shack and my HT, -7,  from wherever I may be in my travels.

I have recently gotten active with the Digital Voice Modes.  The RF enviroment in hotel rooms has gotten progressively worse over the years so carrying my 3 HT's (DMR, DSTAR, Fusion) and my portable hotspot is where I am most active now.   My HF antennas are down at the moment at the home QTH so operating my HF station, locally or remote from hotels,  is curtailed at the momemt.   The HF antennas should be back up in the next month or so.

My wife and I live on the farm I grew up on so we keep very busy with the home, horses, tractors, fields, fences and wildlife when I am home.    It doesn't leave a lot of time for being in the shack so I operate the home station when I can remotely while on the road.   The XYL and I love to camp, fish and travel so this is even more reason to operate portable, remote or DV with a hotspot.

I have been a ham for over 35 years and have my own IT/Network/Security business along with the Airline Flying.   Love to talk all subjects technical, farming, fishing, camping, travel, public service and anything else.   Have been a certified Flight Insturctor for over 35 years and love to teach and mentor and elmer in flying, tech and amateur radio.   Doing so I learn more.   I have a lot to still learn and practice.   See you on the airways and airwaves.  Give me a call and if we just finished a QSO....thanks.

Thank you and 73.
