-------------------------------------------

I have enjoyed amateur radio since the late 70s coming from the big CB boom. I am located about 13 mile north-east of Pittsburgh PA on a hill overlooking the Allegheny river at about 1170 feet above sea level. CW is my mode of choice on HF. Operating conditions are an FT-2000 with an Begali key and a 3 Element tribander up about 35 feet. Also, I enjoy mobile HF CW and phone. Mobile setup is an FT100D with Bulldog key and Hamstick antenna mounted on the bumper.

If you worked me from the “Shop Shack” that was from the third floor on my work location. Conditions there are a Yeasu FT-920 running 100 watts to an inside home-brew loop antenna. In the true spirit of amateur radio, the wire for the antenna was bought CHEAP at a hamfest. The plastic strips that hold the loop near the ceiling were pulled from the trash. My operating desk was also pulled from the trash. The loop is random length. (It fit the room) It sure is great going up there at lunch and working a few stations. My shop key is a nickle plated Begali Pearl.

Other interests include old farm tractors (my IH 300 Utility), computers, and my favorite, pulling things out of the trash and making them work again :) Go figure...

I have been working on cars for a living at our family Business for over 35 years doing mostly electrical and drivability concerns.

I belong to the Skyview Radio Society near New Kensington, PA Check us out. Go to www.skyviewradio.net We have a great clubhouse and a great bunch of hams. The club call is K3MJW. I also belong to the North Hills ARC and the Breeze Shooters – www.breezeshooters.net

Picture is of myself with Piero Begali, i2RTF at W1AW in August of 2007

FISTS number is 10933 NAQCC number is 1365

Well, that should do it. Thanks for looking me up and I will see you on the radio.
