On Air handle is BOB. Extra Class. Licensed since October 1978. WAS (CW & SSB), WAC, DXCC (Mixed, Phone, CW, 40m, 20m, 15m, 10m, Millennium). High school teacher (History, Astronomy) in Chattanooga, TN. Recently upgraded to a Kenwood TS570D in the classroom, driving a Cushcraft A3 tribander. Home rig is a Kenwood TS570SG, driving an 80m dipole, a 40m dipole, a 30m dipole, or a Hy-Gain AV-620 Vertical on 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m and 6m. Also an Ameritron ALS-600 linear amplifier running about 400 watts output, and a Rigblaster Advantage for working PSK31 and FSK RTTY. The VHF rig at the home station is a Kenwood TS-711A (2m). Usually work ARRL 10m, RTTY Roundup, and DX-CW contests. Also active with NAQCC during monthly QRP Sprints and occasional QRPp Milliwatt Sprints. Member of ARRL, GQRP Club, NAQCC, and QRP ARCI. Enjoy kit building and homebrew projects. Major amateur radio interests are DXing and QRP.
