WX7PHX was organized to assist the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Phoenix in obtaining real-time reports of severe weather and/or damage due to weather. The Valley of the Sun and the surrounding communities benefit by this exchange of data that sometimes is the basis of a warning. Trained SKYWARN volunteers around the State of Arizona are invited to check in to a Net, and participate by the communication of critical information that may save lives.

We thank all those storm spotters who watched and reported severe weather this year. Your reports of severe WX on the repeaters listed below are appreciated!  The annual SKYWARN Recognition Day is another opportunity for spotters to check in on one of these frequencies.

Weekly SKYWARN nets are held each Tuesday at 8 pm on 147.200 mhz and Wednesday at 8 pm on 442.800 / 442.850 mhz. If widespread severe weather threatens, these frequencies will be used for activations.
