My ham story

Year 1965

I started ham activity in 1965, after military service,

where I learned cw

I was twenty two years old, then my cw op. was very fast.

So I bought the Station radio with the bill of exchange, after twelve months I finished paying.

My ham radio was: (see picture)

Rx : Geloso G4/215,

Tx : Geloso G4/225, G4/226

Geloso was made in Italy.

Antenna : dipole.

Key : military straight.

Ham radio activity continued until the age of 31 years, when I got married, in 1973.

Year 2010

I got back into ham radio when I stopped working, I was 68 years old, 37 years have elapsed,

without listening cw and touch a keyer.

I sold the Geloso ham radio, and I bought a used Icom 7400, almost new.

Also the antenna is old, but it’s ok, it is a Mosley RV-4C type, and it works on 10, 15, 20, 40 meters.

Keys are straight, one Bencher, two Junker, two Begali, a HST, and a BLADE, this one is a gift from my sisters for my 70th birthday.

Today my cw op. isn’t so fast, my brain is getting old,

but it’s sufficient for QSO not too fast.

I really love the cw, and in the future there will be only and for ever cw.
