About Me

Originally licensed in 2001 I did some VEC work and upgraded to General in 2008 so that I could help with testing exams and move into HF. Later in 2009 passed my Extra. When I am not on the radio I work in the computer security world. (Firewalls, network architecture, data center physical security, vpn, penetration and auditing) other free time you will find me tinkering with everything, I have a '78 F250 that I love to keep running. I am also a SCUBA diver in the pacific northwest. My Shack doubles as my pinball arcade, I am a avid pinball repair guy, and have notable titles such as Twilight Zone and Banzai Run. We also like to camp as a family in a trailer that I rebuilt.

How I got started in HAM

A neighbor of mine was big into boat anchor radios and lent me a TS-520S, as I struggled to figure out a tube radio I made a few phone contacts in the area and northwest, then figured out how to hook it up to the computer to run Digital modes (my real love) I'm not much of a talker but I can type all day. I really enjoy using Ham Radio Deluxe's DM780 to do my work in.

You will find me mostly on 40/20 lurking around call frequency's running any digital mode I see as well as working FeildHell. (FH member#2442) I enjoy contesting and working DX cluster spots.

I dont think there is a digital mode that I havent worked so if your interested or have questions drop me a line I can help out some how. (seriously, the only mode I havent had a QSO with I think is ROS and have no care for that one, oh and FAX but hey who keeps a 286 with expensive DOS software around for that mode?!)
