My mentor was my father-in-law, Hal K4CZY (SK)

First call was KA4VKM back in 1981.

Home Station: ICOM IC-7600, Heathkit SB-200, LDG AT-1000ProII Auto Tuner and a Challenger DX IV Antenna.

Portable Station: IC-7100, Eagle One antenna, Icom AH-4 Auto Tuner and small 800W generator.

Work mostly PHONE, RTTY, PSK31, JT65 and D-Star. Working on learning the code again.

Recipient of A1 Operator Award, WAS and DXCC

Member of ARRL, Broward Amateur Radio Club, Davie / Cooper City Amateur Radio Club, QCWA, ARES/RACES, SKCC # 10156 and SF DX Asso.

President of  DCARC and Vice President of QCWA chapter 69.

Under RACES, work in Control Room for the Ft. Laluderdale Winter Fest Boat Parade also net control for ADA, Cystic Firbosis and BB&T bike rides in addition to other community events.

Sky Warn spotter, ARRL & Laurel Testing Group VE and an ARRL instructor. Organize and teach several Tech classes a year.

Members of DCARC enjoy HF outings once or twice a month. We use generator, solar and battery power, setup portable home brew antennas and have a great time making contacts. Enjoy working with new hams to get them on the air and demonstrate Amateur Raido to the public.

Retired in 2009 from medical lab where I worked in IT.
