Bannaghtyn (greetings in Manx)
I'm Ronnie and I'm located near Castle Town on the Isle of Man. The ancient language known on the Isle of Man is the "Manx" lanuguage which is still used today. I'm currently an Intermediate license holder where my power is limited to 50 Watts but I have full access to all HF bands and modes.
My station is located at Scarlett Point on the south of the island. Click HERE an you can see live webcams of my station. The tower was left in a poor state of repair where I along with friends worked on the tower to make it a usable station (below see photos of before and after). The station is located at a brilliant spot with water around three sides of the tower consisting of:
Kenwood 570 & OCF DIPLOE
(Photo of the tower) - More info go to: www.scarlettpoint.com
Over the years many Amateurs have visted the Isle of man and have operated from the tower. Recently the DX-Interceptors club from Scotland MT0IXD visted and operated for a weekend making 2000 qso's when they battled against the weather the full weekend. Here is a short video of their trip.
I have also feature in the German Mare TV as seen below:
I have also been visited by the BBC where they interviewed me and recorded the tower = CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO
PLEASE SEE MY QSL POLICY - DIRECT ONLY AND INCLUDE YOUR SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE AND $2 DOLLARS US ONLY. NO IRC.
