The image belowis of my outdoor portable Low Earth Orbiting Satellite set up. It comprises of an Arrow MKII LEO antenna (I imported from the U.S) and my two hand-held transceivers, Yaesu FT-470 and Kenwood TH-7. (5Watts). I made the boom extension and the H.T cradle mounts by cutting & folding some aluminium sheet which I pop riveted together.
In the Shack B at my 2cnd QTH, I use a Home-brew IO/10 Element145/435 beam (Pictured below) mounted on a Yaesu G-250 rotator (fixed elevation at30º). Hope to work you on ISS Repeater, AO-7, SO-50, VO-52 & AO-27from IO93CU on my IO-10Ele 145/435MHz Home brew SAT beam.
My Moorland QTH (Shack B) is situated in Yorkshire at around 1000ft ASL which is excellent for HF & VHF with very little QRN if any. I am also regularly active working /Mobile from my Toyota RAV-4, 4x4. I have had some very good results especially on 20m & 40M running an FT-100 with Maldol Mono Band base loaded whips and when parked up I run Hustler Mono band mobile antennas.
I am a member of W.A.B.and will be grateful for any W.A.B. squares. My W.A.B square is SE13, book no is: Old Series 16382. New Series 18433. My occupation is working at LEEDS CITY College Keighley, I have been part of the engineering team since 1992. My specialist subject is welding and fabrication. I also run the College Ham Station in the STAR Centre and operate alongside Phil - M1PAC, Louise - M3TLL and Barry - 2E0OOC.
