I am 2EØWDX & MY NAME IS VIN

I am located in the village of Wrekenton in Gateshead

Tyne & Wear county.

Which is in The North East area of England, very near to the coast of The North Sea. My locator is IO94fw.

According to Google Earth I am situated 149 meters above sea level which is the highest point in my county and gives me a great take off point for ground wave etc.

I CHOSE THE SUFFIX W.D.X. AS THIS WAS THE INITIALS OF A LOCAL RADIO GROUP WHICH I BELONGED TO 30 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS A VERY YOUNG BOY.

HERE IS A BIT ABOUT MYSELF.

I AM A LICENSED RADIO AMATEUR AS OF 13th AUGUST 2006.

I PASSED THE FOUNDATION EXAM IN 2006 WITH THE HELP OF THE GREAT LUMLEY AMATEUR RADIO & ELECTRONIC SOCIETY IN COUNTY DURHAM & THE INTERMEDIATE EXAM IN MAY 2009 WITH THE HELP OF THE ANGEL OF THE NORTH AMATEUR RADIO CLUB IN TYNE & WEAR. I PLAN ON GOING ONTO THE FULL RADIO AMATEURS COURSE WHEN I GET THE CHANCE.

The Angel of the North Amateur Radio Club is a new club formed in January 2008. This is a very active club which holds a meeting once a week in Gateshead. This club now runs all 3 amateur courses & is always happy to receive new members & help interested individuals with all aspects of radio.
