Iain McKeracher, who was born in Edinburgh in Scotland, has been a licenced Radio Amateur for over 50 years and has held the following callsigns during that period: -

G3RSI - current UK call, 5A3CAD (El Adem), VO2AN (Goose Bay). Iain has also operated from the stations of HZ1TA (Riyadh), 5A2CV (El Adem Club, Libya) and ZC4AK(Akrotiri Club, Cyprus).

Iain is currently active at various times during the year from either the UK (call G3RSI) or Cyprus. His main interest is in Satellite and 6M but he also operates on the HF Bands (except 160M) and on 2M, 23CMS and 70CMS. Iain's Station in Cyprus is located in Zalakia,Peyia which is in the south-west of the Island of Cyprus close to the Akamas Peninsula.

Iain uses WSJT9 therefore digital mode capability available.

The equipment lineup in Cyprus is: -

HF (except 160M and 80M)- Yaesu FT-847 with a Cushcraft R7000 Vertical All modes including JT6M.

2 Meters - Yaesu FT-847,IC910H and a Cushcraft crossed yagi.

70CMS - Yaesu FT-847, Icom IC910H, Microwave  with a crossed yagi and SSB Electronics Masthead Preamplifier

OSCAR - 2.4GHZ (Receive Only) - Yaesu FT-847  or IC910 with SSB Electronics USA UEK 3000 2.4GHz Mast-head Converter and SSB Electronics Grid Parabolic Antenna.

On the 70CMS uplink I use the FT-847 or Icom IC910H, SSB Masthead Preamplifier and a 38 element circularly polarised Cushcraft Boomer antenna. The software controlling the FT-847 is the SatPC32 program and ARSWIN software controls the Yaesu G-5500 antenna rotator.
