Click for more detail... My name is (Mark) Gary Field, born in 1965 in Barbados. I am 44 years old. I was an avid radio operater from the age of 12 and would build many large three element quads as a young teenager.( Two in phase once ) After many years of being out of the hobby I decided to get my Amateur Radio ticket in 1994. The course was a three months long and morse was required at 12 WPM. I have been inactive since 2002 but in late 2008 again renewed my interest. I enjoy CW , SSB and 6 metre work since I can easily build antennas fot this band. I use a Yaesu 101ZD on 40m, ICOM 746 PRO on 20m and a Yaesu 900CAT on in my car. I also have a Elecraft K1 recently built, an old Yaesu 301S and have just added another Yaesu 101 ZD for 20 m work. I am also mobile on HF from my car using a Yaesu FT 900 CAT. Maximim Power is 600 watts from an Ameritron Al-811 amplifier but I usually run 350 watts. Antennas are a R5 vertical , 80m dipole, a 40 m dipole and a Cruchcraft A3S 3 element beam for 20,15 and 10. I am active on 6 metres also. My other hobbies include Skeet, Trap and Sporting Clay Target shooting, Tennis, a bit of golf and Horse racing. I live on a Horse farm ( not mine ) I am married to Janine and I have one son, Sebastian ,6 years old.
