I currently am President of the Southeastern DX Club in Atlanta, GA.  The SEDXC was established in 1958 and many of our members have led, co-led, or teamed on DXpeditions to some of the rarest DX entities in the world.  The recent K1N DXpedition to Navassa Island had five SEDXC members on the team (http://navassadx.com/) and was just voted DXpedition of the Year 2014/2015 by the Southwest Ohio DX Association (SWODXA) at the 2015 Dayton Hamvention.

You can find more information about the SEDXC at www.sedxc.org

THE AB-1339A/G TELESCOPING MILITARY MAST SHOWN IN THE 3 VIDEOS BELOW WAS MADE BY "WIBE" (NOW OWNED BY COMROD).

I GOT MINE FROM A HAM WHO BOUGHT SEVERAL OF THEM AT AUCTION YEARS AGO.

THIS MAST IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM SURPLUS OUTLETS.

Please Do Not Send eQSLs for

A PLEA FOR UNDERSTANDING

Please understand that DXpedition operators DO NOT CARE what your name is or what state or part of your country you are in.

DXpedition operators want to make as many contacts as possible when they are on the air.

When the DXpedition operator sends your CALL and REPORT, make your reply as brief as possible.

If you have no doubt that the DXpedition operator has your call correct, reply with "5/9 THANKS (SSB)" or "599 TU (CW)".

NOTHING ELSE IS NEEDED

You may have been calling for an hour or a day or several days, but this QSO is not your 30 seconds of fame. "5/9 THANKS (SSB)" or "599 TU (CW)" is what the DXpedition operator wants to hear so that he (or she) can move on.

When you send "73", "CIAO, CIAO", "GOOD LUCK", "GOOD DX", "BYE, BYE, MY FRIEND" along with your NAME and STATE or COUNTRY, you are delaying the DXpedition operator's next contact.

QRM, QRN, QSB, and other CONDX will mean repeats and extra transmissions. DXpedition operators want to work you. Brief exchanges help make that possible for many more operators.

Saba

(Pronounced SAY-buh)

From October 10-23, 2010, I was privileged to operate with the PJ6A team that made the first QSO's from a new DXCC entity (the island of Saba, approximately 30 miles south of the island of Sint Maarten) following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles. Details can be found here: http://www.pj6a.com

The QSL manager for the PJ6A operation is N4NX

I was licensed as KN8EAB in February of 1957 and upgraded to General Class in October of that same year. My primary interest is chasing DX. I've assembled the K2, KX1, SST, and numerous Heathkits in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. I take a radio with me when I travel. I've operated from vacation cabins, hotels, lighthouses, the African nation of Mozambique, the Caribbean islands of Jamaica, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Saba, Dominica, Grenada, Barbados, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, and from hi-rise apartment buildings, my pontoon boat, mountain tops, and picnic tables.

My second transmitter, the Heathkit DX-100 ... aptly named since it weighed about 100 pounds!  I'm 17 and my kid-sister is almost 3.

I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1967. I flew jet training and attack aircraft for the Navy for 6 years (1,830 Hours). In February of 1974, my XYL and I and our two sons moved to metro Atlanta to begin civilian life and we've been here ever since.

I owe a debt I will never be able to repay to my "Elmer", Bill - W8VII, seen below in his shack in White Sulphur Springs, WV with W8TKT and K8DUO, two other local ham friends. All three are SK.
