QSLs - IMPORTANT

QSL cards are costly, time consuming and have an environmental impact. Please QSL wisely :)
My QSL preferences are as follows:
1. LOTW
2. If you need a card, my QSL manager is Charles M0OXO.

Please DO NOT send your QSL via the Bureau - They are NOT needed unless I request one from you.  If you would like a bureau card, please order it at http://www.m0oxo.com/oqrs/

All logs are uploaded to LOTW and Clublog.

I'm an itinerant radio amateur. I've been licensed since 2013 when I took the Advanced Extra Exam in the USA and gained the call KK4OYJ. I am now the holder of a permanent call in Malta 9H5G.

I operate mostly HF, typically SSB, PSK/RTTY/JT65/JT9. I have two radios now - the excellent TS-480HX accompanied by an LDG AT200 Pro II tuner and a K3/100. My preference is for portable operations and I am the holder of several awards from ARPOC, The Amateur Radio Portable Operators Club

I like to experiment with antennas and all those in use are home-brew - Typically, I use a dipole for all bands. depending on QTH, it may be configured as an inverted V. However, I use verticals when I am near salt water.

I found this article both serious and amusing. http://www.ok1rr.com/index.php/operating/20-errare-humanum-est Well worth a read?

Main QTH Conditions

Radios : K3/100 or TS-480 HX HF+50MHz - Mainradio, K3/100 is being introduced as I get to know it.
Aerials : 40m/20m/17m : Inverted V
20m/17m/15m/12m/10m : Inverted V/Vertical
All aerials are home brew except for my 9H5DX Hexbeam - a new aquisition in 2015
QSL Cards: QSL is OK via LOTW or Direct to Charles, M0OXO for any QSO that I've logged

9H5G/C6A - Bahamas IOTA Activations 2014

I intend to travel throughout the bahamas during the winter and spring of 2014 activating the following groups:NA-001 Great Bahama Bank group,NA-113 South Bahamas group, NA-054 Berry Islands, NA-048 Bimini Islands. Some of these are rarer than others but since I will be travelling by boat, I am required to validate NA-054 and NA-048 throught the IOTA Committee. I also hope to activate some islands that are not on the list, even although they seem to qualify (Hogsty Reef, Melita Cay). I hope to have more information on this soon.

I expect to activate these and other groups during winter 2013 and spring 2014.

Working conditions are TS-480HX, Vertical dipoles on 10m, 17m and maybe 20m. Power from a deep-cycle 5035Ah battery recharged daily.

Logging is likely to be paper and logs will be uploaded as time and available internet permit. I will not always be able to update the Grid Square here remotely - you may have to enter the information in your software manually.
