I have been a ham since 1990 at the age of 14 as KB9FOV and passed my extra at the age of 16 years old. My good friend Ed Beach W9CTK now since a SK helped me through the code and theory. I enjoy working CW and working DX on 10-40 meters. I am a Vice President with our family electrical contracting business that has been in the family for over 85 years.
I have a son Jacob that was born in 2008 and hope that one day he'll get into amateur radio.
I enjoy fishing, hunting, freshwater aquariums, watching NHL and MLB (Chicago Cubs). I spend most of the summer weekends at the lake fishing and relaxing getting away from daily work stress.
I operate remotely from my work where I have my tower since I am unable to have a tower due to home owner association rules. I am able to operate the Icom 7700 and turn my antenna remotely.

Equipment as follows:
Rig> Icom IC-7700
Amp> QRO HF-2500DX (Life is too short for QRP)
Antenna> 3 element SteppIR yagi 6M thru 40M

Audio>Heil PR-781 with W2IHY 8 band EQ and W2IHY EQplus
