JEKYLL ISLAND mini expedition on 14.260mhz. IOTA NA-058

August 12-to-17-2013 Glynn County, Georgia

Going to Jekyll this time with an Icom 706MKIIG 100w, a vertical hamstick, and 2 hamsticks horizontally polarized. I will deploy the horizontal hamsticks atop of a 20'-30' push-up military style mast with a tripod base. Look out! You just might hear me around 14.260mhz.

August 6-10-2011

April and August 2012.

I was on the north beach of Jekyll Island IOTA # NA-058, a 10mile long by 3mile wide, barrier island off the coast of Georgia, USA. working conditions: Icom 706, 100w, 20m hamstick. 160 contacts. Worked lots of Australian and Alaskan stations. Salt water made my 100w hamstick more efficient than 500w 266' Delta loop at my home QTH in Atlanta, GA.
