Was originally licensed as KN0FJD in Iowa in 1961. Upgraded through the ranks to Extra with K2RE call in upstate NY. Let license lapse in late 80s and took exams again in 2005 and obtained present extra call, AC0DS.

Main areas of interest are HF CW contesting, antennas and homebrew. Live in an antenna restricted community, so lots of portable operation is now in order. Antennas at the home station consist of various stealth wires temporarily errected on fiberglas poles or hidden in trees.   In spite of the restrictions, I still enjoy contesting, my favorites being 160, Sweepstakes, DX and Field Day - all with stealth antennas.

Present rigs include Elecraft K3, Elecraft K1 and ICOM IC-7000.
