Click for more detail... I got my Novice ticket in Minnesota in 1982 as KA0OMR. I was living in Indiana when I made it to General (I needed to wait for the FCC to reduce the code speed from 13 to 5 WPM...), and I changed my call to K9ZEN. In December 2006 I passed my Extra exam, and I celebrated by getting the callsign AE9Q. I have been living in Alabama since mid-2006 and am Vice-President of the Calhoun County Amateur Radio Association (CCARA). I am active in ARES-RACES, as well as being a member of SATERN (Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network). My favorite HF mode is PSK31 and I use the outstanding Ham Radio Deluxe/DM780 program suite by Simon Brown. I QSL via LoTW, eQSL, and direct (include a SASE). Besides hearing me on the radio, you might also see me engaging in one of my other hobbies: geocaching (www.geocaching.com). 73, Dave Last modified: Mon Jan 12 18:17:29 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content?
