I have been a Ham since 1994 when a friend of mine from Jr High got his licence. We were both CB operators back in the 70's and early 80's. I was a nocode tech for about 11 years. I did not have the money for the cool toys of a decent HF station. The Manteca radio club looked around at its different members and relized we were becoming a tech only club and set out to do something about it. We setup a morse code training classed and a number of us got our generals.

 I have since upgraded to Extra and have been enjoying HF. I now have a TS2000 and a FT2000 in a full SO2R setup with a Microham microkeyer 2. A 55 foot crankup tower with a tribander for HF, 5 ele yagi for 6m, 17 ele on 2m, 18 ele on 70cm, 70 ele on 23cm.

I have started working a number of contests completing WAS and now going for 5 band WAS, VUCC and DXCC. I QSL 100% via LOTW, EQSL, and direct prefer sase but not required.
