I'm a 39 year old software engineer. I live a bit Northwest of Tampa, Florida. I'm married to Ann, KF4UXJ. We have two young kids which occupy most of our time.

In the past, I have been the vice president of the University of South Florida Radio and Electronics Club and the vice president of the Tampa Bay Amateur Radio Society (now merged with TARC - the Tampa Amateur Radio Club). I have also held the Assistant EC of Operations position for ARES/RACES here in Hillsborough County. I spent 2 years as a DAT coordinator with the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross.

You will rarely hear me on the air except for public service events or disaster relief. I try to drop into a TARC meeting at least once a year and make at least one of the local hamfests every year. I do get on PSK at times, usually on 20m. I intend to build my CW speed someday and actually use my growing collection of QRP kits.

I've worked about 20 public service events, include two 75-mile 2-day MS 150 bike rides. I've worked a number of hurricane exercises, mass casualty drills, several tropical storm evacuations and recoveries, and one hurricane relief.

I've also worked a number of declared disasters as a volunteer with the Red Cross, primarily in Damage Assessment. I've worked most other disaster functions in the first 72 hour periods of other storms. I've worked over 75 "fire calls", ranging from single family house fires to multi-unit apartment fires.

My photo above is from the Port Charlotte Salvation Army on the first full day after Hurricane Charley made landfall in 2004. The tree is full of trailer siding and the ground is covered with window glass. We (as TARC) supported mobile feeding by providing local communications in Port Charlotte as well as communications back to the Salvation Army's Tampa office over 100 miles away.
