First amateur radio call awarded was KN5ZFE in late 1959. As a new 13 year old novice with no money and a great desire to get on the air, I became proficiant at CW. CW remains my mode of choice. After three months in the novice ranks, i made my way to the FCC examiner in Dallas where I passed 13 WPM code and the General examination. When incentive licences were introduced, I again made the trip to the FCC examination office where I passed the Advanced and then Extra examination. I took the pot luck call of AK5X in 1978. I have worked mostly HF CW including CW mobile. Profesionally, I am retired ( September 2012) from the computer business. 73, Bill Rev: AK5X - Tue Jul 28 15:06:18 1998 EUC: AK5X 0WXMM60VUFSG2-43673-2 AK5X@mac.com Last modified: 2012-12-19 18:15:03, 789 bytes cached
