Greetings from Alaska. I am currently the ARRL Section Manager for Alaska. I have recently moved back in time and have added Boatanchor radios to my interests. Hallicrafters, Hammarlund, Heathkit, Drake, National, B&W, Gonset, TMC, and a few more radios are now in hand.

I am originally from Iowa and was WA0LPK starting March 1965. I did 24 years active + reserve in USAF...retired Aug1995 as Lt Col. I finished up my civilian career and left AT&T in Dec 1999. BS in Engineering from Iowa State Univ. MBA from Univ. of Utah, Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Quality Engineering. I have been retired over 15 years now and I am very good at it. Never bored.

Family is Nancy (KL7NY) married 46 years (best friends for over 48), Andy (NL7QI) and Juliann (WL7MP) in the N Seattle, WA area.

Important Info: I am a Grandpa as of Oct 2006. Kaito Andrew Larsen. He doesn't have his license yet. :-) And Taiki Jack Larsen born Dec 2010.  Plus our granddaughter, Emma Liz Makey, was born in April 2013.

Alaska 10 meter Beacon

Initially activated 14Jun06, the new beacon was reactivated on Jan 27, 2011 at the new site. The beacon will be operational full time.

Frequency = 28.239.2 MHz .....frequency coordinated
Antenna = half-wave vertical
GoogleEarth coordinates: 61 9'6.12"N 149 52'31.45"W
. . . . Cut and paste the coordinates into Google Earth search to see the antenna location. You can actually see the antenna on the CWM building to the south.
Grid Square = BP51bd
Power = 2 watts
Beacon message = AK AK AK de AL7FS AL7FS AL7FS bcn < ~1 sec. pause>
