This Year 2012 the Geo Parks main Communication Weekend event will take place on 26th/27th May.

Radio stations from around the world will exchage greetings with GB6GEO over the airwaves at the English Riviera Global Geopark on May 26th -27th, 2012. The special event station will transmit live from Cocking Courtin Torquay, right in the heart of the English Riviera Global Geopark.

Using a special event call sign, GB6GEO,will established contact with other radio stations around Britain, Europe and the world from a base set up outside the entrance at the famous Cocking Court, Devon’s famous.Historic Village, Craft Centre,and Country Park, nestled withing 460 acres.

Main freq's to be used are 3.680MHz, 7.080MHz, 14.180MHz, 21.180MHz, and 28.180MHz

GB6GEO will also be transmitting on 2m FM/SSB.

During the weekend the supervisory operators will be G2DXU, G3VOF, G4XLO, M1EIW, and M0LOB. with great thanks to the Riviera Amateur Radio Club (R.A.R.C.), Other "GEO" stations on during the weekend will include CS8GEO,DK0GEO, DD0D (mostly rtty/psk 20m), DF0ERZ, DR9VAURS/P,EI2GEO, GB2GEO, GB5GEO, GB6GEO GB2MAC, VK5SR,and YP2GEO

GB6GEOwill make contact with radio stations transmitting from within other Global Geoparks. As stated earlier, there are other operators around the world using the GEO based call sign as part of the Geo Parks communication Weekend. GB6GEO wil lestablish contact with some of these over the event weekend.
