My DARC Radio Club is in Straubing, a small town between Regensburg and Passau, which is in Bavaria. The DOK is U14, there is a nice designed Diploma called DLD, which You can get, if You collect the DOK's.
I am living near Regensburg also in a small town called Woerth. All the towns mentioned are at the river Donau.
In 1960 I became Radio Amateur with the callsign DJ7LM. Since then I am active on all shortwave amateur bands and in addition also on 2 meters. The first years I enjoyed CW, then AM and finally SSB. I am very fond in exchanging information about landscapes, habbits, traditions and other hobbies. I am an oldfashioned radio ham, I still collect paper qsl-cards, though I have 1000s of them, and am happy about erery new one. Due to my profession, I was some time out of Germany, so in France and Australia. There I was active with the callsign F0WQ, F6GLM and VK6AVE. To operate from other countries was very interesting.
In the meantime I am retired and now I have more time to hear and talk around the world on amateur bands. Ham spirit and nice persons exist everywhere in the world and so I count quite a few of them to be my friends.
