Hello and welcome to DL1PPA @ QRZ.com!
I´m always on the run - and working the 20m band from downtown, the highway, out of tunnels. ok, joking! But with this rather short antenna I worked from the mobile VK2, VE, JA
At home I am working on HF with a YAESU FT-450. A very compact, absolutely good equipped, compact radio. The original microphone is replaced by an old BAYER DYNAMIC studio microphone - an excellent choice with an stage microphone holder, ´cause I´m using the pretty good working VOX-functionality of the FT-450: best R-reports and free hands all the time! For 2m & 70cm I got an "retiered" KENWOOD TM 741 tribander with doubled 2m and 70cm.
The QSL-Desk to organize the "QSL-Traffic":
.and last but not least the OM himself :-)
As I got the great pleasure to have a separate cottage for my ham radio activities, my wonderfull wife Ruth "allowed" me to "rise up" an sufficient antenna in the geographical middle of our property. I´m the proud owner of the rare HF-multiband vertical MFJ-1798. So I aquired some U-Tubes and other steel parts from the scrapyard and welded a wall mounting holder for the mount of the MFJ-1798 to the side wall of the cottage - you can see this on the following pictures:
The MFJ antenna is working very well - my very deep thank to my very best friend Gerd helping to tune the antenna with his equipment - and is an good choice for DXing: 59 in 3 days in PJ5 (Saba Islands) TS2 (Tunesia), W2 (USA), VE3 (Canada), VK5 (Australia), ZL (New Zealand), B7 (China), P4 (Aruba), 9K (Kuwait), CE4 (Chile), 3XY (Guinea) and so on Recently I designed my new QSL-cards:
