Born 1941 in the area of Cologne Germany, where I graduated high school in 1958. It was then that I started listening to Ham's operating on the 40 meter band on my parents AM-Radio. After completing an apprentieceship, I attended the DARC-Radio club in Cologne, where I completed an amateur radio license course. Then in November 1965 I got my call sign DL2JT.

Then after marrying my lovely wife Marianne, I changed my job and moved  in 1966 to the area of Reutlingen, which is situated between the capital of "Baden-Wuerttemberg"  Stuttgart and the well known University city of Tuebingen. My position was as sales manager in a department of a manufacturer for trucks and buses. Our daughter Silvie was born in 1970 (ex DB4SK) and our son Simon born in 1973 (DL8SK).

I retired in 2000 and now spend most of my time travelling and on the radio!
