SWL since 1977 (ex DL-H53/1881044, now DE8AAM), licensed HAM since 1982, I'm specially interested into DX with islands/IOTA, DXCC, WPX, geographical & administrative regions (US Counties) etc., special event stations, QSLing, Contest and "Utility SWL DXing".

. . . . and philately (username DL8AAM on http://www.philaseiten.de), specially used US stamps, modern postal history, metered stamps  - BTW, I'm member of the Meter Stamp Society (MSS) too, an affiliate of the American Philatelic Society (APS) -, postage paid indicia/postage paid imprints (PPI) - maybe you find any such envelopes in your waste paper bin or dumpster? PSE ... hi

73, Tom - DL8AAM

some special SWLing as 9N1MM/DE8AAM (near Kathmandu, Nepal), XT2PS/DE8AAM (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso), 5H3MA/DE8AAM (Moshi, Tanzania) using the equipment of these OMs, and P5/DE8AAM (Pyongyang, North Korea) in May 2014 cool

Ex-editor of the German HAM-Magazine "Funkamateur" (IOTA-QTC) from the early 1990s til 2008

Member of RRDXA, DARC (DOK:H53), DXCC, RRC (#89), AGCW-DL (#2640), 10-X (259,86 $), WAB (#8969) and the famous "Werner DX Group"

Please note: I do only real-QSLing, that means a physical paper-QSL, "a real pice from YOU for ME", preferring the HAMway of QSLing = via the bureau !! No LOTW, eQSL, DCL etc. ---- QSL IS!

2012 - Special Note: Since some months (2011/2012) I get several QSL requests for 7X2ARA. But sorry I'm not the manager for this station. 7X2ARA is the HQ station of the national Algerian amateur radio society ARA in Algiers. I was active from 7X2ARA as a guest OP back in the late 80s while doing backpacking throughout all Africa with my ex girl friend (and now wife) Andrea...... The American youth wants to visit Europe, the Europeans went to Africa ;-)

After 2 weeks of hiking between remote oasis, in a Tuareg bar, some 1000s kms from Algiers, next to the border to Niger

After some weeks hiking between remote oases, in a Tuareg bar some 1000s kms away from Algiers's 7X2ARA, close to the border to Niger, tired and waiting for the next hitch  wink

BTW, any recently received PSE QSLs for 7X2ARA will be forwarded to the 7X bureau, sorry for that, but I can't help in a better way as I lost contact to the guys down there. I still do the QSLing for my own QSOs only!
