Hello dr. YL, XYL, OM i´m mostly interested in contesting. Running a FLEX 5000A with second RX.
Amplifiers are an old russian LV6 and a Heathkit SB221 amplifier. Antennas in use are Quad and Vertical Antennas (80 + 40m). Also an 5m diameter magnetic loop for RX is in use. 2010 Project in 2010 is an homemade amplifier with the amperex YD1150B. Thats an industrial triode, capable for 6kW anode dissipation.
Antenna project in 2010 is a spitfire version for 160 and 80m
A spitfire version for 40m is perfectly in use. F/B <=30dB; G 6dBi 2011
The amplifier project is still on hold. There are too much interrupts by building antennas Project in 2011 is a hexbeam runningas an 2 element broadband on 40m and a shortend version vor 80m. If running well, this will substitue the 80m vertical antenna. End of 2011 a heart attack stroke me down. So i will be off air up to february 2012. Sorry for that, so no qsl´s and so on.
2012
Think to rearrange my projects and former life. Durnig my residence in hospital my collegas DL1LUI and Dennis built an HPSDR for me. I got it just right befor i had to stay at rehab. Very much thanks to them. Now i change my domicil and built up a new station based on FLEX5000 and HPSDR. Also i will comprise some transistorisized amplifiers. Further no tubes One of my hexbeams is a receiving antenna of DR1A, where i´m a member of the group. www.dr1a.de
some pictures of the hexers: 20-15-10m at 30ft/10m high -------------------------40m at 1m high, still equal to my vertical (12m diamater of spreaders)
Here is the 80m shortend version, also 40m fullsize. both are 2 Element antennas. 40m siganls are about 10db higher then the vertical antenna. 80m must be improved. 16m diameter @ 10m high. look at the smal horses right side down.
best to you my old Quad magnetic loop 3m dia80m quater wave vertical
