I was born in 1943. I got interested in ham radio in 1960. After some mounts of learning
and examination I got my licence in 1961. My first callsign was DM3ZDA at the clubstation.
Later I got my individual licence DM2BJA in 1966 and Y22JA in 1980.
In 1993 once again my callsign was changed to DL9GMM due to the reunion of Germany.
I quickly found out that I like CW much more than SSB or digital modes and became a 99.9 % CW-OP.
After my study telecommunication from 1965 to 1968 I had be worked as service engineer
to repair radio stations and other electronics on fishing and merchant ships over 20 years.
Later when I had good luck to get a job as electrician on board at container vessels I cross
the oceans. I was there QRV with my small IC-706 and longwire antenna.
Sometimes I had a job abroad and worked in my free time ham radio.
