Hi there and thanks for dropping by.

I have been interested in Amateur Radio since the young age of 8 and was a SWL for many years. I got my 1st license in 1978 G8RWI and took the Morse test and obtained the call sign of G4KQU in 1980.

I come from Birmingham in the UK and very active in the building of repeaters and internet linking gateways. I built the 1st internet linked repeater GB3DX in Birmingham (using EchoLink) and run it until we left for Ireland.

I have now built the EI2IPG 2 meter EchoLink repeater in Donegal and run the *IRELAND* conference Node No. 2605

My intention is to progress the hobby as much as I can in as many fields as I can.

You will find me on EchoLink (Internet Linking) normally in the Ireland Conference node 2605 plus many of the HF bands conditions allowing.

Favourite bands are 2- 10 - 15 - 20 Meters
Radio gear used =IC-7600 - TMD710 plus all sorts of PMR
Antennas =Home brew Windom Multi band Dipole
I am a member of the IRTS - RSGB and EPG # 19808.

The EI4JR QSL Card Front and Back

This is the QSL card that I am using. Showing Front and Reverse. I will always QSL via eQSL, Bureau. My QSL cards normally go via the IRTS (Irish Radio Transmitters Society).
Free Software
Software I have written that you may be interest in. can be downloaded from www.hamfiles.co.uk
I have an interest in programming and use this to make programs for my repeater and digital modes. Take a look at the www.hamfiles.co.uk in the downloads section here you may find something of interest. DM780 WX Tool, EchoProducer
DM780 WX Tool
The program is intended to work in conjunction with the Ham Radio Deluxe DM780 program and provide a text file for your weather macro that will keep up to date with local weather information.
The DM780 WX Tool is also used in conjunction with Yahoo Weather On Line and the Ambient Weather or Virtual Weather Station programs to build usable updatable macro for use with Ham Radio Deluxe DM780 digital modes.
Included is a preamble file that can also be used with your macro.
EchoProducer is a simple to use Windows XP utility that uses the Text to Speech engine that comes with Windows. Ideal for Sysop/Owner of a Repeater / Link or Conference Controllers. There are many tools in this program that will assist you.. Courtesy tones using CW or Audio file ID's with effects (Door bell sounds). Weather conditions Current, Forecasts and Warnings. Auto connect options. Text Box Greetings for connecting stations. DTMF audio player can be used for Help or Information audio files. Graphical Text Chat box. Up to 20 random Beacons using TTS. News Player, Download and play the news to your RF users all automatically. Sysop / Admin Conference Controller option. DTMF single or group connect / disconnect. Times Connect and disconnect station in the conference Timed silence mode option. Plus much more. This program runs along side the EchoLink program.
