The callsign Echo India Four Lima (EI4L) was first issued to my Grandfather - John Scanlon in May 1936. John lived in Wexford Town in the South East of Ireland.

John was very active on the bands from 1936 mainly on 10m AM , and also experimented with TV recieving some of the first Signals from the BBC in Ireland. In 1961 he went QRT for nearly 20 yrs, but always renewed his licence and kept his callsign live.

In 1980 he became active again, and made many new contacts with new equipment , regular QSO's with his great friend Harry McGrath WB2EZM. In March 2004 John sadly went Silent Key ,aged 93 years.

I was first licensed in 1984 (aged 21 yrs) , with the callsign EI 9 BNB ( VHF/UHF only) and in 1992 after passing CW Test I aquired the callsign

EI 4 HS.

I am also from Wexford , but I live in Celbridge , Co. Kildare, which 21kms S.W. of Dublin the capital. I was issued my callsign EI 4L on the 20.10.10 and

changed from EI4HS on that.

My main bands are 4m , 10m , 12m and 17m also work qrp/p with my FT817ND

I still have many QSL's to reply to as EI4HS and hope to reply as soon as possible

Looking forward to many QSO's as EI 4L

I don't always need a QSL , so if you don't wish to QSL me , that's fine with me.

Please note , my original computer log for EI4HS was damaged ,and is delaying my replies, please eqsl where possible
