QSL image for EI6JK

Hello

My name is Mark and I became a ham at the turn of the century. I live near Castlerea in County Roscommon about 50kms north east of Galway City.

My equipment is a Yaesu FT2000 and I have a STEPPIR 4 element for 20m,17m,15m,12m,10m,and 6m(6 element) and 40m/30m trombone add on (2 element) on a 60 foot tower.I have 1/2 wave inverted V for 80m and 160m up 60 feet, I have a vertical for 2m/70cms. My linear amplifer is the Quadra VL1000 also by Yaesu.

I am now on LOTW and EQSL and download regularly. This is the way forward as it cuts out postage fraud and expense. If you really need a paper QSL, please send direct only and include relevant postage. My local post office will not excepft IRCs any more. Please include an addressed envelope to save time.

I have a keen interest in contesting and DXCC chasing. I live for the WPX and CQWW contests.I did the IOTA contest on SSB all bands and the CQWW 10 metres SSB{2050 qsos) in 2013 and made a new Irish record.

I have a keen interest in IOTA chasing and have activated EU006 and EU121 for the contest and EU007 for fun.I was also the only headquarter station for Ireland in the IARU HF contest as EI0HQ in 2014.

i

I am enjoying six metres at present,I am in a competition on six metres for the year,to get as many contacts ,DXCC and locators as possible. So if you hear me, give me a call.

I am trying to improve on the CW mode,so if you hear me, please be patient. I got set up for RTTY this year and I am having good fun with that..

I am 47 years old,I am a registered nurse and I live with my partner Ingrid,we have two sons, Evan (14) and Ben (9). We also have three guard dogs Abbey,Belle and Bradley (see pictures below) and three cats, and a goldfish, also the occasional visit from henry the hedgehog

.

My dream is to be involved in a dxpedition one day.If you are organising one and are recruting Hams, remember I have an extensive medical background as well as my radio experience.I also like to look on the funny side of life,I am good fun to be with.

If you need anymore info on anything, please do not hesitate to email me.
