Hi my friends,

I am 46 years old and have been a Ham about 33 years.

My father is Vasilij Kovalchuk is a ham too his calll is EW3EE ( es UC2LY) he is 72 years old . The first crystal detector receiver he made in 1950, at that time there was no electorcity in our village. Only starting from 1964 we have got it .The radiodetails were not to get at that time, that is why the diods for the receiver  we manufactrured ourselfs - on the railsways collected sulphur and after that  with help of sulphur and  Pb a diod was made. In 1953 radio tubes had appeared for the battery powered radio RODINA -49 and as a result he has made first radio receiver for 40 and 80 meters.Listening to the stations he had learnt CW!-

Thanks to my farther I also became a radioamateur, he tought me morse code ..In 1978 I received a SWL call UC2-005-218 was active on the radio station UK2LAN. In january 1981 I received my first personal call RC2LBD was very active in CW on 160 m. .In 1981 -1982 was in operator on the famous radio club UK2ABC of the Minsk Radio Institute.  In 1983 received my UC2LCQ call sign ! In   1983 - 1985 was on military service in Germany in Potsdam city as Y22/UC2LCQ.   Since  1985 , as I was a student in The Belorussian State  University at the faculty for  radiophysik and electronics was managing the radio club  EU1XX [ ex UC1AWK ].

From 1997 – 2004 I work in international amateur radio publication in Raioamateur Magazine **RADIOLUBITEL** was managing the radio club EU5R

It has been my pleasure to operate from such stations/places as DL/EU3AR, DL0OV, LX/EU3AR, ON/EU3AR, PA/EU3AR, ...

At present my station consist of a FT900 plus home made amp…[ tube GS35B ] 1KW out.

Presently my antenna farm consist of a 160m monoband dipole, 160-30m GP DL2KQ a delta loop for 80m, an 2 el quads for 40, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 meters.
