Licenced as G3RTH in 1963, having been an SWL since ~1959. Mostly active on 160M for several years, it was very different in those days, all home-built, mostly valve, transmitters, and with only 10W allowed on Topband! Then from ~1967, only intermittantly active, due to studying, having a family, work, and more work,  (and later on, a problematic neighbour!! - till we moved). We are both now retired, and I have more time for radio, when she agrees !!!!

I have my F6 call since 1980, after moving to France with my job in 1979.  ( Measurex Corp. home office in Cupertino CA,  process control, mainly on paper machines, 1973--->2006,  bought up by Honeywell in '97!   );  retired in 2009.......................

Active on HF bands only, with an FT950 or a TS450 @ 100W, a 40M (132') long doublet (inverted V), and a Z-Match, testing a MOXON on 17M at the moment.......   On 17M, 40M & 12M mostly at present, sometimes on 80M or 20M. I enjoy a chat, (conditions permitting), not a 60secs "QSO" ...............

NB. I lost interest in QSLs in the 70s, and I have no current bureau membership, if I receive a card I will print one on the pc and return it, ( no need for postage), otherwise no QSLs, I do check eQSL and QRZ regularly, ........à bientôt, Phil
