Le radio club de la Base aérienne 128 de Metz Frescaty occupe une partie du niveau supérieur de l'ancien aérogare régional.

Il surplombe le taxiway et la piste orientée en 19/01. Le kenwood TS 450 est relié à une FB33, à une loop horizontale de 166 m chargée par une résistance de 620 ohms, attaquée à l'un des ses angles par une ligne bifilaire et un transformateur d'impédance Thomson de type TRC 1413. -un double dipôle 30 et 17 mètres. -un dipôle 40 mètres et une FD4 viennent compléter les aériens pour la HF.

Plusieurs verticales VHF/UHF sont installées également pour le digi packet. Le club est qrv en APRS avec une station météo en ligne.

F6KAT participe au championnat de France télégraphie et téléphonie et par la même occasion au challenge du général Férrié.

2003 - vainqueur du challenge Férrié. 2004 - second du challenge Férrié. 2005 - vainqueur du challenge Férrié.
