Dear reader,

My interest is on VHF and above DXing. You will hardly find me below 50 MHz.

The inter-island DX SSB/CW activity is low in the Caribbean so after some scarse QSO's (NP2X, FG4KH) and some transatlantic tests (with the club FM4KA to CT1HZE : failed!) I decided to assembled a small EME station. I might give a new DXCC to those who did not work Rémi FM5CS (not active at the moment).

I still consider tropo skeds proposals in the Caribbean, a nice achievement would be a QSO with south-east USA (EL95 is the closest at 2400 km : Es or tropo + ES). Please send me an e-mail if you are interested.

My present station is about 600W to 2x8 Yagis. I can TX V only but receive H and V simultaneously : should improve that later.

I usually CQ 144.131 or answer CQ. Some good ears stations may spot me on Live CQ. I appreciate to have somme random in QSO's.

On my favorite list :

Lucien F1TE's site especially his description of a portable EME station : http://www.f1te.org/index.php/eme/eme-144-portable

Hepburn's tropo maps : http://www.dxinfocentre.com/tropo_nat.html

VK3UM's with his EME calculator : http://www.vk3um.com/

The SoftRock site for their friendly and detailed guidance to SDR : http://www.wb5rvz.com/sdr

The Martinique local ham association : http://www.fmhamra.com/enter.php

.

CU soon on 2m or 6m!

Jean-Louis FM8DY
