I was born in Wakefield West Yorkshire in 1947 moved to Chapel St Leonards January 25th 2012. Married to Sue she holds a foundation licence M3TCT.I started in amateur radio as a short wave listener when I was between 12 and 13 years old did a bit of construction also started with ex government surplus 19 sets BC348 R1155 AR88D and then a brand new Eddystone 888A. In 1986 got my B licence my call was G1UDG and in 1988 got my class A licence.My transceiver is a Icom 7700 .QRV on 160m use an inverted L tuned with insulated radials no atu,also have dipoles for 80m 60 m and 40m also run a 5 -btv vertical elevated about 8ft off the ground withradials for 60m 40m.I do not run any earth system very high water table in my garden [salt water}seems to be a good cloud warmer hi.Love walking my dog Max on the sea front,my QTH is just over 100m from where the picture was taken of the sea.Chapel St Leonards is a village a small holiday resort with its own Parish council. The village is about 6 miles North of Skegness.
