G0TSM antennas - 2016
My Home Station consists of.....
Yaesu FTDX5000MP+Yaesu Quadra Amplifier+Yamaha CM500 headset + UR6QW EQ/Compressor.
LP-Pan + Xonar U7 + NaP3
10/6M Dual band Yagi 5ele/5ele (homebrew)
12/15/17/20M Broadband Hexbeam (homebrew)
30M half size rotary dipole
40M Dipoles 12M high (E/W & N/S)
60M Dipole at 12M high
80M Inverted L
40/80M Windom @17M (also used as a 160M L)
80/160M Rx antenna is a Wellbrook loop with an MFJ1025 noise canceller
My FTDX5000 audio settings used with the Yamaha CM500 headset and UR6QW EQ/Comp:
PROC = ON
MIC GAIN = 26
PROC = 15 or 16
Menu #104 = 200-2800
Menu #162 = 0 (PE1 OFF)
Menu #165 = 0 (PE2 OFF)
Menu #167 = 3000
Menu #168 = 3
Menu #169 = 1
On UR6QW EQ (Connected to rear MIC IN):
COMP = 9 O'clock
MIC = 9 O'clock
OUT = 12 O'Clock (50%)
Note: Adjust the UR6QW OUTPUT so the maximum COMP indicated on the FTDX5000 is <= 5dB.
With a PROC setting on the FTDX5000 of less than 10 it is possible to overdrive the DVK input and the DVK playback will sound distorted. A PROC setting of 15 or 16 and a COMP indication of 5dB or less will not overdrive the DVK.
Shack - Jan 2013
The top three antenna switches are to allow the antennas to be routed to the 2nd RX on the FTDX5K bypassing the amplifier.
What a mess! But all hidden away under the desk. the cable supports are 'guttering brackets'
View from the shack window. What a beautiful sight! (The antenna, not the snow!)
Another view of shack.
