I first passed my RAE in July 1993 and got the call G7PBD for use above 30mhz and then in 1995 passed my morse and got the call G0VUH for all bands. I first started out in radio with CB and made many friends all over the world on 11mts since 1982, and then listening in on the Ham bands which I found very interesting so I ventured into Amateur Radio.

 

Equipment: HF Yaesu FT 2000. HeilGoldline Boom mic HC5. Heil Headset HC5,Ranger 811 Linear Amp 800w.

10/12/15/17mts Antron A99 Vertical at 15mts on the mast

80/40mts  Butternut HF2V 10mt Vertical with 32 10mt long radials ground mounted.

On the new tower just erected is a four halfwave element collinear 20mt array at 12.192mt, length horizontal top section 29.56m and vertical stubs 5.48m still under experiment so reports welcome. 

50MHZ  Yeasu FT 2000 with the Heil Goldline mic HC5 into a five element quad beam by Tonna at 9.144mt high on the mast

2mt Band and 70cms Band Yeasu FT847 with Yeasu MD100 into the tri-bander V-2000 at 9.0mt high on the mast.

 

 As you can see I just love Vertical antennas, low angle for DX has given me 298 countries the majority on 10mts which is my favorite band. I was born in December 1964 and I work as a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor for the Criminal Justice System.I live with my Wife Caroline born in 1982 who's the Manager of a large merchandise Store in Sheffield. My other hobbies are Bodybuilding,which I've been doing now for 18 years, countrylife and nature,Computors,Going to the movies,and Keeping Lizards,I have two Bearded Dragons native to Australia and I also keep tarantulas and not forgetting of course  mans best friend our English Springer Spaniel dog called Trixie.

Active most days during "E" season around 50.152.0 and 28.470.0 and the winter season on all bands Phone, CW, BPSK31, RTTY, using the excellent Ham Radio Deluxe and DM780 with the SB2000 Radio Interface..........SK

The station operates the PSK Automatic Propagation Reporter in Digital Master 780 where you can see stations worked, heard, "live on air" at www.pskreporter.info
