I was, for a long time, a keen SWL. My ham radio operating started in the early 1960's as ZC4HK, MP4BBA and 9H1BA when I was in the RAF. G2BKZ was re-issued to me in 1983, once belonging to my friend Bernard, now SK. I am a keen HF operator and I can be heard anywhere from 160 to 10 meters. My working conditions; FT1000D, 200 watt output, (usually set to 100 watts). My HF aerial is a British built "Chelcom" 2-element, 4 band spider quad mounted on a 40ft Strumech tower. The driven loops are relay switched via voltages fed up the co-ax from the shack. For the LF bands I have an 80 mtr dipole. By strapping the feeder together it works well as a top loaded vertical on Top Band. By feeding a dc down the co-ax, I can switch to a 40 mtr vertical delta loop.

I am also licenced as 9H1KZ and operate from Malta when I can. The rig there is an IC706 and a 20 Mtr delta loop.
