I have had my call for 50 years this year and yet I'm still addicted to Amateur Radio !

It amazes me that after all that time I am still learning and finding aspects of the hobby that completely hold my interest. I especially enjoy challenges such as 160 metres and 6 metres. I have worked more than 282 Countries on 160 Metres over the years, with a grand total country score of 345 worked on the HF bands.

G3SED- The picture above shows my QTH as it was back in 2005 - I have a selection of beams and a Titanex V160S 160 mtr Vertical with 140 1/4 wave radials . For the LF bands I have two 740ft beverage antennas. Below are pictures of my antennas over the past couple of years ( Left ) a Force 12 C31XR, 8 Element 6 metre yagi, and test 24MHz Dipole. (Right) Optibeam OB 9-5, OB 4030 rotary dipole, Comet 4 element 6m beam. I change antennas like my clothes always experimenting and testing new systems!

Force 12 C31XR, Trident 8 Element 6 metre yagi,

DXpeditions - I have both sponsored and been involved in many major Dxpeditions including 9M0C, 3B9C, D68C, 3B7C, T32C, JY7SIX, JY8ED and operated as part of the Camel Trophy communications team as G4SMC/LU, G4SMC/CE1, G4SMC/9M6, V31RD. I am a founder member of the 5 Star Dxpedition group and spent many happy years preparing ,supporting and working on major Dxpeditions with what have become lifelong friends.

CT7/G3SED - is my holiday call operating from a Villa on the Algarve coast of Portugal. I have operated for the past 5 years from the Villa using simple wire antennas and low power and found it great fun !

G3SED/MM- I love operating maritme mobile from my Jeaneau Prestige 42 Motor Cruiser. I use a Pacific 7.3mtr Fibreglass vertical mounted on the bathing platform with an Icom AH4 ATU and Icom IC-7400 Transceiver. I enjoy playing with a 185ft kite borne vertical on 160 & 80 mtrs off the back of the boat bathing platform too!

I still live a busy working life running my own companies, Nevada Communications, Nevada Music, Nevada PR and Nevada Distribution, but I still find plenty of time to be fully involved in the hobby !
