I began as a SWL in 1960 after listening to Short Wave Radio at an Uncles house in London and being fascinated by the countries he was hearing.I then studied for my Amateur Radio Exam in Portsmouth and the CW in Southampton passing both in 1975.I have three children two of which are licensed and I now live with my partner of 6 years "Cathryn" in Romsey a beautiful town where I have lived for about 35 years.I have made many friends through Amateur Radio and enjoy visiting Amateurs throughout the world when on holiday and enjoy them visiting us in Romsey.

We now have a Camper Van and I operate from this when we are on a site,currently using Mag mounts for various bands on the bonnet.(see below).

Also below a photo of my home town centre Romsey,the Abbey dates back to 907AD and the statue in the square is of Lord Palmerston born at Broadlands in Romsey in 1784 and he died in 1865-Lord Mountbatten of Burma is buried in Romsey Abbey and used to live at Broadlands .

Florence Nightingale in buried in East Wellow church Nr Romsey and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle who created Sherlock Holmes is buried at Minstead churchyard also close to Romsey.

Romsey has a population of about 16,000 and is located about 10km North of the sea port of Southampton and about 133 kilometres South West of London the capital.
