Trained by the British Army in Wireless Operating and other skills.
Served in Active Service in S.E.Asia and Middle East.
Built my first radio aged 10. A one valve (tube) battery driven RX, using components from a broken set.
Long time as SWL from age 9 to getting licence.
First licence VS2JD Malaya (1957)
Also 4X4QE (1982) Israel
Absent from the hobby for a number of years.

Left the hobby for many years while living abroad, mainly in France and Portugal; finally returned permanently to UK in 2010
