Started out as an SWL in 1974. First Licensed in February 1977 as G8MXF, got the G4 call on 5th January 1979. Active on 2m and 70cm from the car, and HF/VHF from home. Mainly interested in rag-chewing on VHF/UHF & DX'ing on 20m. Also take part in the 2m Backpacker's contests and SOTA.

I am RSGB Deputy Regional Manager for Cambridgeshire, and a committee member of the Cambridgeshire Repeater Group. I am also a member of the ARRL, The Peterborough & District ARC, and the Camb-Hams (www.camb-hams.com).

On weekday evenings and most weekends I run the GB3PY-R Echolink Node No. 222303.
