Hi, and thanks for the visit. I've been licensed since 1982 after serving in the British Army in Hong Kong for 3 years as a dog trainer with the R.A.V.C. and then 11 years in the Merchant Navy wandering the world in cruise liners. After being sacked (fired) from my last ship, for showing pornographic movies to American tourists, I opened a photgraphic studio in Liverpool in 1968 and then wandered the world, again photographing heads of state and peasantry for portraiture and wedding photography,(not neccessarily in that order!}. I bought my present QTH, a farmhouse with 2 acres of land (nearest neighbour 1 mile away) after falling out with a previous neighbour over TVI when I lived in semi-detached suburbia! Present radio setup include the following as of Jan. 2012. Radios are Kenwood TS 870s, Icom IC 745 and an as new,Yaesu FT 101E!! (Still my favourite). Present antennae are an 80 mtr. vertical delta loop at 73 ft. with tuned feeders, a dipole at 45ft and in June I installed a full sized 80 meter ground plane, but until DX comes along big time, I'll reserve judgement on that one! At the end of August 2012 I installed a 40 metre vertical Delta loop on a 40foot telescopic fibreglass mast , results remain to be seen. Since the 23rd. Sep. 2012, I've put up a 40 metre ground plane on the fibre glass mast, results for DX yet to be seen, or heard! My big tuner is a TAU/Capco which weighs about 10 kgs. Linears are a Heatherlite Explorer (5 band, with two Eimac 3-500Z's), In July, I obtained an Amp Supply LK 500ZC linear(6 band ,two 3-500z's) and put it into service on July 30th. So now I've sold a little Yaesu FL 2100Z . My main interests are ragchewing and DXing on 80 mtrs andI'm usually to be found on 3.789 every evening around 21:30z/22:00z. I have 2 p60 Versatowers and a P40 but only the P 60's are in commission at the moment until the wx improves! My other interests are Classic cars, sea fishing and golf but it seems that the more golf I play, the worse I get so have left it alone for a few months! so I can improve! I went QRT about Christmas 1997 after one of my towers bent in half Christmas Eve. I returned to the bands in August 2011 and usually only use the other bands for phone contests but even then, with limited participation. Attached is a sample picture of part of an exhibition I put on to promote my work as a portrait photographer. Please, please,do not eqsl, I have all sorts of problems with this. If you need or want a qsl, Buro is fine or direct. No LOTW or EQSL thanks folks. QSL by QRZ.com is fine with no problems!
