I was born in 1967, and have been an SWL since the age of just 7. I obtained my first ham/amateur radio license at the age of 14 years (2nd youngest licensee in the country at the time), I gained my full license at the age of 15.

I was a County Morse Examiner until the requirement for CW was dropped. Main interests are HF bands, Data modes, DX, CW and 6m.

I do not transmit very often these days as my home QTH does not lend itself to transmitting but I do get on the air when I am visiting other hams.

That said I am a very active SWL and have over 125000 QSO's logged in 326 DXCC, with over 230 DXCC confirmed.

I hold the following awards: WAC (QRP), FISTS CC (#676), 100YRS (#0010) and FISTS ELMER (#35). I qualified, but not applied, for DXCC on 10 bands, WAC on 9 BANDS (just need OC on 6m), WAS, WAZ and QRP DXCC. I have worked 49 of the 50 U.S. States with 3 watts of CW (Still need Hawaii though!). have also amassed well over 150 awards from the EPC for loggings of PSK QSO's.

More recently I have been taken with digital modes, such as JT65a, WSPR and some of the more common types such as PSK31, MFSK etc.

I am a member of RSGB, EPC, 30MDG, DMC, BDM, BCO, CDG, NDG, FHC and PODXS 070'S amongst others.

Please look up my website, there is a lot of information about Ham Radio, Beacons, Morse/CW, Digital Modes, DX, 6m, Contesting and more.

The URL is: http://www.hfradio.org.uk

As an SWL, I use the identifier G4001SWL to claim awards, rather than my transmitting callsign, so if you see G4001SWL anywhere, it's me!

I am the International Editor for WRTH (World Radio TV Handbook) - http://www.wrth.com THE directory of broadcasting!

73 and thanks for looking me up -.-
