Click for more detail... Hello and Welcome! I have been a ham since 1962, and have operated from all continents but KC4 over the years, with DXCC from five of them. My operation is now almost all on 160 metres, and 90% of that on CW. The G4VGO confirmed DXCC total on Top Band is now at 221 with all zones but zone 2.. When I used to live in Suffolk and if the weather in the east of England cooperated, my transmit antenna was a full quarter to half wave supported by either a balloon kite (HeliKite from Allsopp Helikites in the UK), or an 8 foot weather balloon. In bad weather, a 22 metre vertical was used. For receive I used Beverages, and Flags. It doesn't take miles of real estate to enjoy 160m, but it helps! From 2003 until 2005 I was 9V1GO in Singapore, operating the low bands most of the time. I also operated as YB5AQB when I was at my second home on Batam Island. Since 2007 I have operated as YI9CC/5 in southern Iraq as I travel there often.(Also as 9K2/KY0C in Kuwait) My last portable operation in Asia was from 9M2/G4VGO in late 2007, but now I will be active on top band from my main QTH in Indonesia (YB5AQB Batam Island OC-075). All QSL's for Asia should be sent to OK1DOT. CU on THE BAND! 73 and good DX Last modified: Mon Nov 9 05:28:13 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content? If so, Report this page... |
